It is a very well known fact in today’s society that physical environment should be organized in such a way to provide “livable” conditions for all members of the society. But, unfortunately, an important proportion of our country’s living conditions involve many physical disabilities. These disabilites sometimes arise from the absence of several facilites and sometimes from the lack of access to the facilities that are currently present.  

It is crucially important for the disabled people to be able to live independent lives and join daliy activities as much as possible. It is again crucially important to organize residential areas suitable for disabled people and to design household equipments and tools easier, simpler to use and using them should recommentd less energy consumption and time.  These are the elements that make lives easier and increases the quality of life. As a result, it is very important that the tools that are to be used by disabled people should technologically be enhanced not only inside their houses but also during their daily lives outside. Tools that make life easier should be designed which are suitable for all groups of disabilities. Unfortunately it is very hard to say that technoligical production and usage for disabled people is sufficient in our country today. The reasons for these insufficiencies are mainly because of the lack of knowledge and economical problems.     
In order to provide independent lives for the people who are either born disabled or became disabled later in their lives we must take the latest technological improvements in consideraiton and educate disabled people as much as possible.
In our international congress, we are targeting to come together and share informaiton with the researchers who are interested in disabled people’s lives, state institutions and organizations and private sector representatives in order to discuss today’s technological improvements and developments regarding disabled people’s lives today. 

It will make us more than happy to see you among us.
